Hovden Alpinsenter
Hovden Alpinsenter can be found at the top of Setesdal and ever since 1968 it has been possible to take a chairlift to the top of Nos. The alpine center is today Sørlandet’s largest ski resort. The family-friendly facility is well equipped with clear lifts and trails. Hovd en Alpinsenter has a total of 33 trails, 3 lifts and 5 ski lifts in three areas. Family-friendly children’s area, easy to challenging trails and one of Norway’s best terrain parks. The total trail length is 42.5 km and the maximum drop is 420 meters
Steel lifts
At Hovden Alpinsenter you can take the chairlift to the top of the mountain Nos. The lift is open both in winter and in summer. Take the chairlift to the top of Nos (1183 masl) and you will get a great view of the mountains. In fine weather you can see all the way to the Hardangervidda. From here you have a good starting point for mountain hikes both on foot in summer and on skis in winter
On foot or by bike
In summer, the lift is open in high season. Tickets are purchased upon boarding. From the top there is a marked trail north to a lookout point located 200 meters from the chairlift descent. The trail is marked in blue. From there you can choose to continue on the blue-marked trail towards Stølskardnuten and then follow the red-marked trailon a cart road down to Hovden or to the tourist cabin Sloaros. There is also a short blue-marked trail from the lookout point down to Hovden, or you can follow the gravel road that goes directly down between the alpine trails under the lift. There are two bike paths down from the top bike can be transported up by elevator.
Skiing or sledding in winter
From the top of Nos there are two cross-country trails; “Storenos”, a circular trail of 7.5 km, and “Stemtjønnuten” which lies like a loop on the mountain plateau before it goes down to Hovden. This trail is a total of 12 km long. Since in winter it is not possible to take the lift down again, you have to ski. It is possible to have a sledge in the lift. On Saturdays and holidays, the sledge must be delivered when boarding the lift by 11:00. More info and prices on the website
Evening open in winter
Some days a week it is open until 21 D a only t – move in operation and it is floodlighting in this part of the plant. Night driving is not included in the day pass and must therefore be purchased in addition.
